Machining Procedure:

1. Replace Standard Saddle:
   • Remove the standard saddle and replace it with the hand-operated 'D' section saddle.
2. Initial Groove Cutting:
   • Using the standard tool holder, cut a vertical-sided groove at the desired diameter.
   • Remove the cutting tool and use a left/right-handed plunge tool to roughly shape the sides of the groove into a 'V'.
3. Install 'V' Groove Toolpost:
   • Remove the 'D' section saddle from the machine.
   • Replace the standard toolpost with the 'V' groove toolpost and refit the saddle onto the machine.
4. Adjust Toolslides:
   • Slacken the locknut and use an Allen key to adjust the pressure pads on the 'V' groove toolpost.
5. Set Up Tool:
   • Raise the unused slide using the appropriate thumbscrew.
   • Lower the required tool slide to access the securing grubscrews, slacken them off, and attach the tool.
6. Final Hand Finishing:
   • Hand finish the grooves by using the appropriate thumbscrew to lower the tool, ensuring a precise and clean 'V' groove.
